Tired Eyes

If a busy schedule and pulling all-nighters are what are causing your face to rebel, then the best remedy is to get more sleep.

In the meantime, you can help bring some life back into those blood cells with caffeine. Many eye creams contain caffeine, so just be sure to check the ingredient label before buying. If DIY is more your style, wet two tea bags (use caffeinated tea) and leave them in the freezer for a couple of hours. Then press them under your eyes for 10 minutes.

Diet

What you’re eating could also be contributing to the state of your under eyes. Puffy under eyes are often be caused by too much salt or alcohol in the diet. The best way to combat this is to change your diet. In the meantime, drink a lot of water to re-hydrate the under eyes.

Sun

Sun damage can also enhance your dark circles, so be sure to always wear sunscreen.

Genetics

If it’s your genetics (take a look at your parents and see if they have constant dark circles too), then unfortunately, there isn’t really anything you can do to combat your under eye circles. On the other hand, that’s good news, because you don’t need to waste your money on trying different miracle creams, because none of them will work. The best way to deal with your hereditary dark circles is to find a great concealer.

When choosing a concealer, you don’t need one that is any lighter than your regular skin tone. For purple-toned circles, use a yellow concealer. If you’re experiencing redness, use a green-toned concealer.

When applying the concealer, press gently with your fingers. The skin under the eyes is extremely sensitive, so you do not want to irritate it even more. Whatever you do, make sure that you take off your makeup every night, as this can lead to darker circles.
